Yunus · Ayah 64

لَهُمُ ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚ لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِكَلِمَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ 64

Translations

For them are good tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. No change is there in the words [i.e., decrees] of Allāh. That is what is the great attainment.

Transliteration

Lahum al-bushra fi al-hayat al-dunya wa fi al-akhirah. La tabdila li-kalimat Allah. Dhalika huwa al-fawz al-azim.

Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah promises glad tidings to the believers who have faith in Allah and His messengers both in this life and the Hereafter. Ibn Kathir explains that the glad tidings in this life include peace of heart, spiritual satisfaction, and divine support, while in the Hereafter it refers to Paradise and Allah's pleasure. The ayah emphasizes the immutability of Allah's word and promise—His decrees cannot be changed or reversed—and concludes that this is the greatest success (al-fawz al-azim), indicating the supreme victory of the righteous.

Surah Yunus is a Meccan surah revealed during the early period of Islamic preaching when believers faced persecution and doubt.
