Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah presents the reward for those who combine faith (iman) with righteous deeds (amal salih)—their Lord will admit them into His mercy, which constitutes the manifest triumph and ultimate success. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi emphasize that this verse demonstrates the inseparable connection between belief and action in Islam; faith without works is incomplete, and the combination of both leads to Allah's mercy and Paradise. The phrase 'al-fawz al-mubin' (the manifest victory) signifies not merely salvation, but the clear and obvious triumph over all worldly and spiritual failures.
Revelation Context
This ayah appears in Surah Al-Jathiyah (45), a Meccan surah that addresses the signs of Allah's power and the reality of the Day of Judgment. Verse 30 is part of a passage (45:28-30) that contrasts the fates of believers and disbelievers, presenting the ultimate outcomes on the Day of Resurrection. The context emphasizes that belief must be coupled with righteous action to attain Allah's mercy.
