Al-Isra · Ayah 80

وَقُل رَّبِّ أَدْخِلْنِى مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَأَخْرِجْنِى مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَٱجْعَل لِّى مِن لَّدُنكَ سُلْطَـٰنًا نَّصِيرًا 80

Translations

And say, "My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority."

Transliteration

Wa qul rabbi adkhilni mudkhala sidqin wa akhrijni mukhreja sidqin waj'al li min ladunka sultanан nasiran

Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah teaches the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to supplicate to Allah for righteous entry and exit in all affairs, along with divine authority and support. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi explain that 'mudkhala sidq' (entrance of truth) and 'mukhreja sidq' (exit of truth) refer to conducting one's affairs with sincerity and integrity, while 'sultanан nasiran' (victorious authority) means seeking Allah's help and wisdom to succeed in propagating the message of Islam. This du'a encompasses seeking Allah's guidance in both beginning and concluding matters with truthfulness.

17:61Al-Isra

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِـَٔادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ قَالَ ءَأَسْجُدُ لِمَنْ خَلَقْتَ طِينًا

And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except for Iblees. He said, "Should I prostrate to one You created from clay?"

17:89Al-Isra

وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِى هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ فَأَبَىٰٓ أَكْثَرُ ٱلنَّاسِ إِلَّا كُفُورًا

And We have certainly diversified for the people in this Qur’ān from every [kind of] example, but most of the people refused except disbelief.

17:17Al-Isra

وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ نُوحٍ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ بِذُنُوبِ عِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرًۢا بَصِيرًا

And how many have We destroyed from the generations after Noah. And sufficient is your Lord, concerning the sins of His servants, as Aware and Seeing.
