He will be judged with an easy account

Fasawfa yuhasabu hisaban yasira
Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah refers to the easy reckoning that will be granted to the righteous on the Day of Judgment. According to classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi, 'easy reckoning' (hisab yasir) means that Allah will review the deeds of the believer swiftly and mercifully, without prolonged questioning or severe scrutiny—a mercy for those who lived righteously. This stands in contrast to the difficult and thorough accounting that awaits those who rejected faith, as referenced in the preceding verses of Surah Al-Inshiqaq.
Revelation Context
Surah Al-Inshiqaq is a Meccan chapter that describes the cosmic upheaval of the Day of Judgment and the fate of different categories of people. This particular ayah appears within the context of describing the righteous person whose record of deeds is in his right hand, emphasizing that those who lived according to divine guidance will experience a lenient judgment.
Related Hadiths
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever is brought to account on the Day of Judgment will be punished.' Aisha asked, 'Does not Allah say easy reckoning (hisab yasir)?' The Prophet clarified: 'That is the presentation of deeds, not the actual reckoning. Whoever is subjected to actual reckoning will be punished.' (Sahih Bukhari 4946). This hadith distinguishes between the easy review of deeds and severe questioning.
