ثُمَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ 31
Translations
Then into Hellfire drive him.
Transliteration
Thumma al-jahīma sallūhu
Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah commands that the disbelievers will be made to enter and endure Hellfire as punishment for their rejection of truth. The verb 'sallūhu' (they will be made to enter/burn in) emphasizes the certainty and active nature of their punishment. Say, "Is it other than Allāh I should desire as a lord while He is the Lord of all things? And every soul earns not [blame] except against itself, and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you concerning that over which you used to differ."
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ
A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"
