Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah commands that the disbelievers will be made to enter and endure Hellfire as punishment for their rejection of truth. The verb 'sallūhu' (they will be made to enter/burn in) emphasizes the certainty and active nature of their punishment. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari interpret this as part of the graphic description of the Day of Judgment, where those who denied the reality (al-Haqqah) face their inevitable consequence.
Revelation Context
This ayah appears in the middle section of Surah Al-Haqqah, which is a Meccan surah focused on the certainty of the Day of Judgment and the reality of resurrection. The surah describes the fate of the righteous and the wicked, and this particular ayah concludes a passage describing the destiny of the disbelievers who rejected Allah's signs.
Related Hadiths
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'The least punishment in Hell is to have shoes of fire put on, by which the brain will boil' (Sahih Bukhari 6561). Additionally, 'Whoever disbelieves in Allah and His messenger has certainly failed' (Sahih Muslim), relating to the theme of those destined for Hellfire due to disbelief.
