Luqman (Luqman) · Ayah 14

وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُۥ وَهْنًا عَلَىٰ وَهْنٍ وَفِصَـٰلُهُۥ فِى عَامَيْنِ أَنِ ٱشْكُرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَيْكَ إِلَىَّ ٱلْمَصِيرُ 14

And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.

وَوَصَّيْنَاwawaṣṣaynāAnd We have enjoined
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَl-insāna(upon) man
بِوَٰلِدَيْهِbiwālidayhifor his parents
حَمَلَتْهُḥamalathucarried him
أُمُّهُۥummuhuhis mother
وَهْنًاwahnan(in) weakness
عَلَىٰʿalāupon
وَهْنٍۢwahninweakness
وَفِصَـٰلُهُۥwafiṣāluhuand his weaning
فِى(is) in
عَامَيْنِʿāmaynitwo years
أَنِanithat
ٱشْكُرْush'kurBe grateful
لِىto Me
noun
وَلِوَٰلِدَيْكَwaliwālidaykaand to your parents
إِلَىَّilayyatowards Me
noun
ٱلْمَصِيرُl-maṣīru(is) the destination
