Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah depicts the blessed arrival of the God-fearing (al-muttaqūn) into Paradise, led in groups (zumar) to the gates of Jannah. The guardians of Paradise greet them with peace and praise their righteous deeds, inviting them to enter eternally. Classical scholars like Al-Qurtubi and Ibn Kathir emphasize that this scene illustrates the honor and joy reserved for those who maintained taqwa (God-consciousness) throughout their lives, contrasting sharply with the fate of the transggressors described in the preceding ayah (39:71-72).
