Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah affirms that those who practice taqwa (God-consciousness and piety) will dwell in gardens of Paradise accompanied by blessings and comfort. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi emphasize that this verse serves as a consolation to the believers during the Meccan period of persecution, assuring them of the ultimate reward for their steadfastness in faith. The mention of both 'jannāt' (gardens, plural) and 'na'īm' (bliss/comfort) underscores the multifaceted nature of Paradise—a place of both physical and spiritual fulfillment.
