At-Tawbah (The Repentance) · Ayah 67

ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَ وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقَـٰتُ بَعْضُهُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍ ۚ يَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَقْبِضُونَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ ۚ نَسُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَنَسِيَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ هُمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ 67

The hypocrite men and hypocrite women are of one another. They enjoin what is wrong and forbid what is right and close their hands. They have forgotten Allāh, so He has forgotten them [accordingly]. Indeed, the hypocrites - it is they who are the defiantly disobedient.

ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَal-munāfiqūnaThe hypocrite men
وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقَـٰتُwal-munāfiqātuand the hypocrite women
بَعْضُهُمbaʿḍuhumsome of them
مِّنۢmin(are) of
بَعْضٍۢ ۚbaʿḍinothers
يَأْمُرُونَyamurūnaThey enjoin
بِٱلْمُنكَرِbil-munkarithe wrong
وَيَنْهَوْنَwayanhawnaand forbid
عَنِʿaniwhat
ٱلْمَعْرُوفِl-maʿrūfi(is) the right
وَيَقْبِضُونَwayaqbiḍūnaand they close
أَيْدِيَهُمْ ۚaydiyahumtheir hands
نَسُوا۟nasūThey forget
ٱللَّهَl-lahaAllah
فَنَسِيَهُمْ ۗfanasiyahumso He has forgotten them
إِنَّinnaIndeed
ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَl-munāfiqīnathe hypocrites
هُمُhumuthey (are)
noun
ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَl-fāsiqūnathe defiantly disobedient
