Transliteration

'alá qalbika litakúna mina al-mundhireen

Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah refers to the Quran being revealed upon the Prophet Muhammad's heart so that he would become one of the warners (preachers of divine warning) to mankind. According to Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari, this indicates that the revelation was placed directly in the Prophet's heart, a miraculous preservation ensuring its purity and his complete understanding. The purpose of this revelation was to equip him with the knowledge and responsibility to warn people away from disbelief and guide them toward righteousness.

Revelation Context

This ayah appears in Surah Ash-Shu'ara (26:192-195), which discusses the Quran's divine origin and the integrity of the revelation process. The surah addresses the skeptics of Mecca who denied that the Quran was from Allah, and this passage emphasizes that the Quran came through the Archangel Gabriel to the Prophet's heart—a supernatural event beyond human capability.

Related Hadiths

Sahih Bukhari 4953: The Prophet ﷺ said, 'The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.' This relates to the Prophet's role as a warner and guide with the revealed message. Additionally, Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2907 emphasizes the Prophet's role as a 'Mubashir wa Nadhir' (giver of good tidings and a warner).

Key Lesson

Just as the Prophet ﷺ was given the Quran on his heart to warn and guide others, believers today are called to internalize the Quranic message and share its wisdom with those around them. The ayah reminds us that receiving knowledge from Allah carries the responsibility to convey it and act upon it with sincerity.
