Transliteration

Wa-inna rabbaka la-huwa al-'Azīzu ar-Rahīm

Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah affirms that Allah is both Al-'Azīz (the Mighty/Invincible) and Ar-Rahīm (the Merciful), emphasizing His absolute power combined with His infinite compassion. According to Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi, this combination reassures believers that Allah's dominion is coupled with mercy—He has the power to punish but chooses to forgive and show clemency to His servants. This ayah concludes a section addressing the disbelievers, reminding them that judgment ultimately rests with the All-Powerful yet Merciful Lord.
