Tafsir (Explanation)
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) responds affirmatively to the disbelievers' mockery about the resurrection, declaring 'Yes [the resurrection will occur], and you will be among the humiliated/disgraced.' This ayah comes in the context of the disbelievers' arrogant denial of resurrection. According to Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari, the phrase 'wa antum dakhirun' (and you will be humiliated) serves as a stern warning that those who reject divine signs and mock the message will face disgrace on the Day of Judgment.
Revelation Context
This ayah is part of Surah As-Saffat's broader theme addressing the disbelievers of Mecca who rejected the message of resurrection and the Hereafter. The surah contextualizes their mockery and denial, presenting the Prophet's confident affirmation despite their ridicule.
