Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah refers to Allah's guidance of Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron) upon the straight path, enabling them to lead the Children of Israel with divine wisdom and clarity. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir emphasize that this guidance encompassed both spiritual direction and practical means to fulfill their prophetic mission, demonstrating Allah's special care for His messengers and those who follow divine truth.
Revelation Context
This ayah appears within the narrative section of Surah As-Saffat that recounts stories of earlier prophets. It follows the mention of Musa and Harun's mission to Pharaoh and their people, contextualizing how Allah sustained them spiritually and intellectually throughout their challenging prophetic journey.
Related Hadiths
The concept of divine guidance (hidayah) is referenced in Sahih Muslim (132) where the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whoever He misguides, none can guide.' This reinforces that true guidance is exclusively from Allah.
