سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ 31
Translations
We will attend to you, O prominent beings.
Transliteration
Sanafruġu lakum ayyuha ath-thaqalān
Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah, addressed to the two weighty beings (jinn and mankind), conveys Allah's promise that He will turn His full attention and judgment toward them. Classical scholars like Al-Tabari and Ibn Kathir interpret 'sanafrugh' (We shall attend/turn to you) as Allah's declaration that He will hold both creation accountable on the Day of Judgment with complete focus and justice. كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel.
وَعَرَضْنَا جَهَنَّمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَرْضًا
And We will present Hell that Day to the disbelievers, on display -
قَالَ أَمَّا مَن ظَلَمَ فَسَوْفَ نُعَذِّبُهُۥ ثُمَّ يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ فَيُعَذِّبُهُۥ عَذَابًا نُّكْرًا
He said, "As for one who wrongs, we will punish him. Then he will be returned to his Lord, and He will punish him with a terrible punishment [i.e., Hellfire].
