Ali 'Imran · Ayah 46

وَيُكَلِّمُ ٱلنَّاسَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ وَكَهْلًا وَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ 46

Translations

He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous."

Transliteration

Wa yukallimu an-nasa fi al-mahdi wa kahlā wa min as-sāliḥīn

Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah describes Jesus ('Isa) speaking to people in the cradle as an infant and in his maturity, and being among the righteous. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi emphasize that speaking in the cradle was a miraculous sign distinguishing Jesus from all other infants, demonstrating his prophethood from birth. Already there has been for you a sign in the two armies which met [in combat at Badr] - one fighting in the cause of Allāh and another of disbelievers. They saw them [to be] twice their [own] number by [their] eyesight. But Allāh supports with His victory whom He wills. Indeed in that is a lesson for those of vision.

3:47Ali 'Imran

قَالَتْ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى وَلَدٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌ ۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ ٱللَّهُ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] said, "Such is Allāh; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is.

3:184Ali 'Imran

فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ جَآءُو بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُنِيرِ

Then if they deny you, [O Muḥammad] - so were messengers denied before you, who brought clear proofs and written ordinances and the enlightening Scripture.

3:76Ali 'Imran

بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ وَٱتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

But yes, whoever fulfills his commitment and fears Allāh - then indeed, Allāh loves those who fear Him.
