Translations
Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age,

Tafsir (Explanation)
This phrase describes the maidens of Paradise as 'urub (full of love and affection toward their spouses) and atrab (equal in age and compatibility with one another). Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi explain that 'urub refers to women who are devoted and tender with their husbands, while atrab emphasizes that the houris in Paradise will be perfectly matched in age, beauty, and temperament, creating ideal companionship. Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace,
كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected.
وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَمَسَـٰكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِى جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ ۚ وَرِضْوَٰنٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
Allāh has promised the believing men and believing women gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and pleasant dwellings in gardens of perpetual residence; but approval from Allāh is greater. It is that which is the great attainment.
