Transliteration

Fa'amiyat 'alayhimu al-anba'u yawma'idhin fahum la yatasā'alūn

Tafsir (Explanation)

On the Day of Judgment, the news and information (of their deeds and the truth) will be hidden from the disbelievers, and they will be in such a state of confusion and despair that they will not even ask one another. Ibn Kathir explains this as Allah's concealment of understanding from them as a punishment, while Al-Qurtubi notes that the shock and terror of that Day will render them speechless and unable to communicate or inquire about their fate.

Revelation Context

This ayah appears in the context of Surah Al-Qasas, which discusses the stories of the prophets and the consequences of belief and disbelief. This specific verse relates to the description of the Day of Judgment and the state of the disbelievers when they face the reality of their deeds and ultimate fate.
