Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah, addressed to the righteous soul, commands it to enter into the ranks of Allah's honored servants in Paradise. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi interpret this as a divine invitation to join the company of the prophets, the truthful ones (siddīqīn), and the righteous (sāliḥīn) in the highest stations of Paradise, representing the ultimate reward and honor for those who have lived righteously.
Revelation Context
This ayah appears in the final verses of Surah Al-Fajr, which addresses the fate of the soul on the Day of Judgment. The surah contrasts the comfortable destiny of the righteous soul with the torment of the wicked soul, and this particular ayah represents the climactic moment when the righteous soul is welcomed into Paradise with this divine command.
Related Hadiths
The hadith in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim describing the soul's ascension (the hadith of the ascension of the soul) relates to this ayah, as does the hadith about the levels of Paradise and the companionship of righteous souls in Jannah, found in various collections including Tirmidhi.
