Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah refers to the punishment of Pharaoh on the Day of Judgment, declaring that none will punish him as Allah will punish him. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari interpret this as emphasizing the unique and incomparable severity of Allah's punishment for those who reject His signs and oppress His servants. The ayah underscores that Divine justice transcends all earthly concepts of punishment, and those who persistently deny Allah and harm believers will face unparalleled retribution in the afterlife.

Revelation Context

This ayah concludes the narrative of Surah Al-Fajr, which recounts the story of Pharaoh and his arrogance despite witnessing countless miracles through Prophet Musa. The surah emphasizes how Pharaoh, despite his power and wealth, ultimately faced complete destruction. This ayah serves as the final judgment on Pharaoh's fate, reflecting the broader Meccan theme of warning the deniers of Mecca about the consequences of rejecting Allah's message.
