Al-Anfal (The Spoils of War) · Ayah 50

وَلَوْ تَرَىٰٓ إِذْ يَتَوَفَّى ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۙ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ يَضْرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَـٰرَهُمْ وَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلْحَرِيقِ 50

And if you could but see when the angels take the souls of those who disbelieved... They are striking their faces and their backs and [saying], "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire.

وَلَوْwalawAnd if

تَرَىٰٓtarāyou (could) see

رأيr-a-yverb

إِذْidhwhen

يَتَوَفَّىyatawaffātake away souls

ٱلَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those who

وُجُوهَهُمْwujūhahumtheir faces

وَأَدْبَـٰرَهُمْwa-adbārahumand their backs

وَذُوقُوا۟wadhūqūTaste

ذوقdh-w-qverb

عَذَابَʿadhāba(the) punishment

عذب'-dh-bnoun

ٱلْحَرِيقِl-ḥarīqi(of) the Blazing Fire
