Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah, the final verse of Surah Ad-Dukhan, commands the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to wait and observe, as his opponents are also waiting. According to Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari, Allah is assuring the Prophet that just as the disbelievers await his downfall, they too await the punishment of Allah. This is a statement of patience and confidence that the truth will ultimately prevail, and the consequence of rejection will manifest.
