Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah affirms that the God-fearing (al-muttaqun) will be in a place of security and safety in Paradise. According to Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari, 'maqam amin' (secure station) refers to an exalted, protected position in Jannah where the righteous will dwell in complete peace, free from fear, sorrow, or any harm. Al-Qurtubi emphasizes that this security encompasses both physical safety and spiritual tranquility, representing the ultimate reward for those who maintained piety throughout their lives.

Surah Ad-Dukhan was revealed in Mecca during a period of intense opposition to the Prophet Muhammad. This ayah appears within the conclusion of the surah, which contrasts the fate of the righteous with that of the disbelievers, offering hope and reassurance to the early Muslim community facing persecution.
